Call pick-up is a feature that allows you to answer someone else's telephone call from your own device. The feature is accessed by pressing *8 and then the call button on your phone (this will be the tick button on a Snom, or the OK button on a Yealink).
To setup a call pick-up group, select Pickup Groups from the Your Phones section of your VoIP control panel.
There will already be a default group setup which you can use if you wish, but to setup a new pick-up group, firstly type a suitable name for your pick-up group in the Add new group field provided and the click Save (I am creating a Sales group in the example below).
Once you have set a group name, you will see a list of all of the extensions on your account. To add a member to the pick-up group, simply put a tick next to the extension that you want to include in the group by clicking the box in the member of group? column. Once added, a call made to that extension can be answered by an extension that has been added in the can pickup group? column.
In the example below, any calls to Jenny's extension can be answered by Ben, Katie, and Lucas. Joseph's calls can be picked up by either Ben, Katie, Lucas, or Jenny but Joseph will not be able to answer calls for any other of the group members.
You can edit the pick-up group at any time by selecting the Group name in your control panel.
