Gradwell hosting customers can purchase an SSL directory that allows you to provide piece of mind to users of your website. For an introduction to SSL, please read this article.
How to purchase an SSL directory
To purchase an SSL directory, login to your hosting control panel and click SSL Hosting.
Enter the name that you wish to use for the directory. Choose this carefully as it will be the name of your secure folder and appear within the internet URL of all files you place within the secure directory in the format of https://uk-ssl.com/<your_folder>
For example, if you wanted to add the page payment.php to a secure folder, and created a folder called gradwell, your page would appear as https://uk-ssl.com/gradwell/payment.php
Please note that you must enter a name for the folder - attempting to leave the box blank or placing just a / will not work.
Uploading files to your secure directory
Files can be uploaded to your secure directory using UNIX shell services. For more assistance with setting up your UNIX login please see this article. The local folder is shown on the SSL hosting page.
In the example below we have purchased an SSL directory called test. Logging in as the UNIX user for this domain (rw817265a) will allow us to browse to the SSL directory.
If we were to upload a file called index.html it would appear in the local folder as:
To browse to it on the internet we would enter the following into a web browser:
