If you wish to transfer an existing domain to another Gradwell customer account you can do this via your control panel. It is a two stage process that first requires the customer gaining the domain to create a passphrase to authorise the transfer.
Please note that hosting services such as website content, mailboxes and databases are not transferred. If you require assistance with this please contact our customer services team.
Creating a passphrase
The person gaining the domain should first login to their hosting control panel and from the left hand menu select Transfer domain. A sub-menu will appear, from here select Gradwell transfer.
In the Your passphrase section enter a phrase that can be provided to the person transferring the domain to you and click Update passphrase. Give this passphrase to the person transferring the domain out.
Transferring the domain
The person transferring the domain can now initiate the domain transfer. From the same Gradwell transfer page use the fields in Transfer domain to request the transfer. You will need to complete the following:
- Domain: if you have more than one domain hosted with Gradwell, select the one you wish to move using the dropdown box
- Destination customer email: enter the master email address of the user you wish to transfer the domain to. If you are not sure what this is, ask the other person
- Passphrase: enter the passphrase that the gaining customer created
Once done, click Transfer domain.
