To setup an email address on your Gradwell hosting account, you need to perform two tasks:
- Create a mailbox
- Create a mail forwarding rule
The mailbox is simply a location where email is deposited. This is not an email address, because an email address is simply a public facing address that will simply forward any mail received to the mailbox that you state. This allows you to forward messages received at multiple addresses to one mailbox, reducing the need to check numerous email accounts.
The mail forwarding is how you tell the system where to send email received on a certain email address.
For example, on the domain gradwell.com we could create a mailbox called john and choose to forward the following email addresses to it:
Email sent to any of these public facing email address would be delivered to the same mailbox.
