You can upload your website onto our servers using File Transfer Protocol (FTP). This is nothing scary, it's simply transferring files across the internet to our servers. To do this, you need to set up a username and password so that we know it is you trying to update your website.
From your control panel, click on FTP access, and then Add FTP account.
Enter a username and password of your choice, and if you would like the user to only be able to use a certain amount of your web space enter a figure into the Disk quota field.
Once you have created your login, you will need a program that allows you to login and send files. A popular free FTP program is called FileZilla. Once installed, start up the program and enter the following details in the top bar:
- Host: ftp.gradwell.net
- Username: as set by you
- Password: as set by you
- Port: leave blank
Once you click connect, the program should create a connection to our server. You can now drag and drop files and folders from your computer onto our server.
Once you have uploaded your files, please ensure that you delete the file called configure.shtml. This is just a holding page that is shown to anyone that navigates to your domain before you upload your site to inform them that your site hasn't been created yet. Once deleted, they will be sent to the file you have called index.html instead.
The walkthrough video below will show all of these steps in more detail.
