This article has been written for use with MAC OS/X 10.3.9.
MAC OS/X ships with email software built in, this document discusses how to configure it.
The screenshots below demonstrate how to configure the POP3 Mailbox "postmaster" which has been created for the domain name "example.co.uk", you will need to substitute these with the settings relevant for the account you wish to configure.
If you have not used Mail before, then you will be asked to setup a new email account.
The User Name field should be set to firstname.lastname@example.org, and the Password should be the one you entered in the Control Panel when you set up the mailbox.
The Outgoing Mail Server should be set to relay.gradwell.net
When you click on OK, Mail will try to log in and check your email - however, you may need to change the Server Port before this can happen. Click the Cancel button on any error messages and follow the instructions below.
If you already have an account setup in Mail
On the Mail menu, click Mail then Preferences.
You should now see a list of existing email accounts you may have configured.
Click on Add Account and choose POP3 (You can use IMAP as well, however we are concentrating on POP3 in this document).
Enter a description for the account, this is only seen by you and helps you identify the correct account when you have more than one defined.
Enter your email address as email@example.com
You should enter your name in the Full Name field, any emails sent will appear from the name entered.
