A UNIX login allows you to login and manage your website using SSH.
Changing your UNIX login credentials
Your UNIX login can be managed from your control panel. After logging in select the hosting control panel by clicking the Hosting link in the top bar.
From the left hand menu, click Unix login.
You will now see options to change your login credentials.
Please note that you can only change your password if you know your old password. If you do not remember these details, please contact our support team.
You also have an option to select the Unix shell that you wish to use. For more information on shells, please see this resource.
All changes that you make here will take up to an hour to update on our systems.
Once you have your credentials set up you should be able to login.
Please note that you must use an SSH client to do this. Our login server does not support Telnet, which transmits passwords unencrypted.
If you need an SSH client you can use an Open SSH client (just select your operating system from the left hand menu).
Once you have a client, enter shell.gradwell.com as the host that you wish to connect to, and if required in your client ensure that SSH is selected as the connection type. When prompted enter your username (as displayed in the control panel) and the password that you have set.
