If you have created a database and require external hosts to be able to access it, for example websites that are not part of your Gradwell web hosting service, then you can do this during database setup by ticking Allow Access from External Hosts.
If you have already created your database and didn't select this option, then simply navigate to it and click the Edit button.
From here, tick Access from external hosts and then Submit to save your changes.
Once external host access is enabled an external hostname will appear. This is the address that should be used to access the database from the external host.
In order to protect your database you need to specify with external hosts should be allowed to access your database. A new option will appear along the top called Access Hosts. Click this to add and delete which external hosts are allowed.
To add a new access host, click Add new access host.
Simply enter the IP address that will be used to access your database and click Submit.
The host IP will now be allowed access. If you need to delete it at a later date then simply select the tickbox alongside it and select Delete.
