Our web hosting service allows you to backup files, databases and mailbox configuration so that they are preserved in case of future problems with your website. It is also useful if you wish to manage different versions of your website.
Please note that only mailbox configuration is backed up, not email messages.
Creating a backup
To start making a backup, login to your control panel and click Backups (within the More Services box).
You will see a list of current backups. To create a new one, click Add New Backup.
Enter a name of the backup, and select what elements you wish to backup. In the screenshot below, we are backing up the mailbox configuration, a database and the webspace files. Click Finish to complete the backup.
Your backup will start, and how long it takes depends on the size of the files being backed up. Once complete you will see that the status is Stored.
Restoring a backup
To restore a backup, return to the backups page. Select the backup you wish to use and click the Restore button.
You will be asked to confirm if you want to restore the selected backup, after you click OK you will see a confirmation message that your backup has been scheduled for restorations.
Performing a restore in this way will revert all backed up items in that backup file. If you'd prefer to only restore certain items (for example, just a database), click into the backup and then click Content from the top. You will see all items in that backup. Select the specific ones you wish to restore and click Restore.
Deleting a backup
If you wish to delete a backup, return to the backups page. Select the backup you wish to remove and then click Delete.
If there are only certain items in the backup that you wish to delete, instead click the backup name and then Content from the top of the screen. You will see a list of all items in that backup. Select the ones you wish to remove and then click Delete.
